Growing With the Seasons, the Soil and the Sky
Gardening already asks us to pay attention to the soil, weather, light, seasons and the individual needs of every plant.
Lunar gardening adds another layer of curiosity.
For generations, gardeners and farmers have used moon phases, zodiac signs and seasonal patterns to help guide planting, pruning, harvesting and other garden work. I want to understand where these traditions came from, how people practiced them and what happens when I experiment with them in my own growing spaces.
Gardening With the Moon is where practical gardening and lunar tradition grow together.
I share planting notes, garden experiments, herbs, flowers, vegetables, container gardening and what I learn from working with the moon’s changing phases. Some things will grow beautifully. Others may become lessons involving dirt, questionable decisions and a plant I am desperately trying not to kill.
I am learning as I grow. This is not about treating the moon as a replacement for healthy soil, suitable weather or proper plant care. It is about observing natural rhythms and discovering whether gardening with greater intention helps us build a closer relationship with the land and the plants we tend.
