Animals, Nature & Sacred Earth

Learning To Slow Down And Pay Attention

Nature does not ask me to perform, explain myself, or pretend to be someone I am not. It gives me somewhere to breathe, observe, learn, and exist exactly as I am.

This page is where I honor those connections, document what I am discovering, and share the animals, plants, places, and quiet moments that bring me back to myself.

Finding Connection In The Living World

Animals and nature have always reached parts of me that words cannot.

My animals are not simply pets living in my home. They are family, comfort, companionship, protection, and part of how I regulate when everything around me feels too loud. They each have their own personalities, habits, moods, and ways of communicating, and I love learning who they are beyond what people expect an animal to be.

Since moving away from Detroit, I have also found myself becoming curious about every bird outside my window, every deer crossing nearby, every unfamiliar insect, and every plant growing along the path. I can spend hours watching the wildlife around me, noticing their routines, learning their names, and trying to make my little corner of the world feel safe enough for them to visit.

This is where I share stories about Czar, Chief, Lyric, Venus, the birds around my balcony, and the animals and plants I meet along the way. We may explore animal behavior, wildlife encounters, native plants, gardening, natural cycles, spiritual symbolism, environmental questions, and the lessons that appear when I slow down long enough to pay attention.

Some stories may be educational. Some may be spiritual. Others may simply be about something one of my animals did that made me laugh, cry, or stop what I was doing to appreciate the moment.

I do not believe nature exists only as a background for human life. We are part of it. The more I learn about the living world around me, the more I understand how deeply connected we all are and how much responsibility we have to care for the places and beings that share this Earth with us.
