Gardening With The Moon
Exploring Lunar Planting Traditions
The moon has guided calendars, planting traditions, harvests, rituals, and everyday life for generations. Naturally, I want to know what happens when we bring some of that old wisdom into the garden.
Gardening With The Moon is where I explore lunar gardening traditions and the idea that different moon phases may offer different times for planting, tending, pruning, harvesting, resting, and preparing the soil.
Some traditions follow the waxing and waning moon. Others work with zodiac signs, elements, seasons, weather patterns, or the moon’s movement through the sky. I want to understand where these practices came from, how people have used them, and what happens when I try some of them for myself.
This is not about treating the moon like a strict gardening rulebook. Plants still need suitable soil, water, light, nutrients, care, and growing conditions. The moon simply gives me another rhythm to observe while learning how everything in nature moves through cycles.
I will share lunar planting ideas, moon-phase garden notes, seasonal observations, experiments, successes, mistakes, and whatever the plants decide to teach me along the way.
Learn the traditions. Try what interests you. Watch what happens. Keep notes. Decide what belongs in your own garden.
The moon gives us a cycle to follow. The garden shows us what actually grows.
