Making Room for Who I Was, Who I Am and Who I’m Still Becoming
Healing has not looked like quietly letting go of the past and suddenly becoming a brand-new person.
For me, it has meant learning why I survived the way I did, recognizing the parts of myself I had to hide, and slowly figuring out who I am when I am not living entirely in survival mode.
It is learning to unmask after discovering my AuDHD later in life. It is understanding how trauma lives in the mind, body and nervous system. It is grieving what happened without allowing it to define everything that comes next.
Some days, healing feels powerful. Other days, it looks like resting, setting a boundary, changing my mind or simply making it through the day without abandoning myself.
This space holds the honest parts of healing: self-love, identity, grief, boundaries, nervous-system regulation, late diagnosis, rebuilding confidence and becoming someone who finally feels at home within herself.
I am not writing from the finish line. I am sharing what I learn while I am still walking through it.
